WILD goes to school.

8 new soldering stations accompanied by the expertise of WILD were recently given to senior students of the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium Völkermarkt.

Soldering is a real door opener into the world of electronics and thus for countless cool projects. Soldering cables, building circuits and at some point, even entire sensor or control units. Students from the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium in Völkermarkt, who are interested in this topic, have totally new possibilities now. Due to the initiative of Industriellenvereinigung Kärnten, the WILD Group has purchased eight new soldering stations for the school and invited ten students on a field trip to WILD to give them direct practical know-how as well.

Our optics assembly manager Patrick Weinzerl guided the students through the WILD Völkermarkt assembly halls and told them helpful details about professional soldering. At a previously prepared workstation also a small practical task awaited them. “We prepared a soldering training practice kit. After a short soldering demonstration, the students were allowed to try it out for themselves and thus get hands-on practice,” Weinzerl said.

Educational institutions such as the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium Völkermarkt are not only supported with technical equipment by the WILD Group. “Our goal is a long-term cooperation. In addition to internships, WILD also offers graduates the opportunity of an apprenticeship after graduating from high school,” emphasizes CEO Dr. Josef Hackl, who personally talked to the students. “Our apprenticeship is a direct and ideal way to make a lot out of one’s Matura. This way one gets to the apprenticeship diploma on the fast track, because the apprenticeship period is then shortened by one year.”

How society is changing, what awaits students in the economy after their apprenticeship, and how to get there. Josef Hackl also shed light on these central questions at the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium during joint lectures and discussions with four of the classes.
