20 years of WILD Electronics.

Founded in 2004, WILD Electronics has developed into an internationally sought-after technology partner for medical and industrial technology. Many of the ‘founding members’ from back then are still in key positions today. They share a deep passion for innovation and the highest quality.

It all started with a team of 20 people who primarily developed electronics and plastics solutions for the WILD Group from 2004 onwards. 20 years later, WILD Electronics is a strategic cornerstone of the group of companies. At the development site and competence centre for electronics and software in Wernberg, 70 employees are currently driving forward pioneering projects in the fields of medical technology, in-vitro diagnostics, laboratory technology and additive manufacturing. Development and production are carried out exclusively on behalf of customers.

These include market leaders as well as start-ups. ‘They all benefit from two decisive advantages: the speed and the enormous range of expertise of our team’, says Stephan Payer, Head of Business Unit WILD Electronics.

Innovative strength as a success factor
Around 30 per cent of employees are still involved in development and technology creation. They work closely with research institutes, universities and engineering partners. And they do so successfully, as demonstrated by the fact that the company has been honoured twice with the Innovation Award of the State of Carinthia and nominated for the State Prize for Innovation. ‘Our employees know how to solve complex tasks, both in the development and implementation of smart assembly concepts,’ emphasises Payer.

For this reason, more and more customers have entrusted the manufacturing of their high-tech devices to WILD Electronics over the years. Payer mentions blood analysers, 3D printers for a leading Austrian manufacturer, surgical navigation and spectrometers for agricultural use as current examples. Accordingly, the personnel and infrastructural capacities have been continuously increased. In 2016, the site was expanded by around 1,200m² of production space, creating the ideal conditions for the next stages of growth. The ISO 14698-certified white room for aseptic production, including instruments for operating theatre navigation, has been in operation since 2009.

Strong community – from the beginning until today

Many of the ‘founding members’ from the past are still working at WILD Electronics and have contributed significantly to the success story. The current CTO of the WILD Group, Wolfgang Warum, started as a project manager in Wernberg in 2004 and has shaped the company from the very beginning. Renate Pock, Erwin Wirtitsch, Christine Andritsch, Manfred Marcell, Wolfgang Wagner, Alfred Kislinger, Dietmar Pichler, Susanne Sommeregger, Jürgen Demuth and Anita Rutter have also been driving growth with their personal commitment for two decades. ‘It’s great to see how our company has developed from a vision into an internationally sought-after technology partner. This success belongs to all of us and we are very proud of it!’ emphasises Alfred Kislinger, who works as a mechatronics engineer.

A look into the future

‘The WILD Electronics site will remain an important part of the WILD Group in the future and strengthen the innovative power of the entire group’, say Managing Directors Warum and Primus with an optimistic outlook.
