From Front Desk to Office Management
Katharina Lomsek began her journey at the reception desk in 2019. Today, she is Executive Assistant and loves the variety her job offers. In this interview, she shares why every day is different, what she particularly values about working at WILD, and how she unwinds after work.

When did you start working for the WILD Group, and what are your responsibilities?
I started at the reception of WILD GmbH in Völkermarkt in August 2019. Since January 2023, I’ve been working as Executive Assistant, responsible for occupational safety, regulatory affairs, and partly for facility maintenance.

What do you particularly appreciate about your job?
The variety of people, the diverse tasks, and the meaningful nature of the work – especially in the field of medical technology. It’s always exciting to discover, whether at work or in my personal life, where our devices are used and the impact they have.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
No day is ever the same. I start with classic front desk duties, like preparing meeting rooms. I independently manage projects in infrastructure, occupational safety, and facility management – from planning to execution. In between, I handle internal and external phone calls. I also coordinate appointments and communication with internal and external partners for the executive team. Administrative tasks like preparing documents and presentations are also part of my role.

What kind of expertise and soft skills are essential for your role?
You definitely need organizational talent, business acumen, and excellent communication skills. It’s also important to be flexible and solution-oriented – because no two days are alike. Being a good listener is equally crucial. That’s how challenges can be successfully tackled as a team.

How do you experience teamwork at WILD?
Very positively! I really appreciate the collaboration with different departments. This teamwork allows us to learn a lot from each other and achieve great results together.

Do you feel supported in your professional development?
Yes, I feel very well taken care of within the WILD Group. Everyone knows I’m always happy to lend a hand – and I receive that same support in return. That makes the work fulfilling and brings me a lot of joy.

How would you describe the company culture at WILD? What values are most evident?
To me, trust and appreciation are the most tangible – both from the leadership team and my colleagues.

What advice would you give to someone considering applying at WILD?
If you’re looking for meaningful and exciting work, you’ve come to the right place. The diversity within the team brings new surprises every day. 😊

What’s your most important way to unwind after work?
Spending time with family and friends and doing sports is the perfect balance for me – whether it’s running, tennis, strength training, hiking, or cycling. And every now and then, a good glass of wine with the people who matter most to me.
