WILD Gruppe und Lotus Air Filter System von Ortner Reinraumtechnik For several months, WILD has been using the tested and proven Lotus Air Filter System from Ortner Reinraumtechnik to create a germ- and virus-cleaned environment for its employees.

Many experts agree: room air filters will be part of the solution in the fight against the Corona pandemic in the coming months. At WILD, they already are. The system partner recently equipped a total of seven open-plan offices with a so-called Lotus Air Filter System. The use of these HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, especially H14 air filters, has long been standard in intensive care units, laboratories and clean rooms. They are capable of filtering out even the smallest aerosols containing viruses (0.1 – 0.2 µm) from the room air. And they do so at a rate of 99.995 percent! As a result, they also safely and reliably capture airborne SARS-CoV-2 viruses.

“We are convinced that, in addition to the classic measures such as mouth-nose protection, keeping a distance or hand hygiene, the quality of indoor air represents an important lever in the fight against corona infections, albeit one that is underestimated by many. In addition to regular shock ventilation, we guarantee our employees a high level of safety by installing this filter technology, which has been tried and tested for years,” CEO Josef Hackl is convinced. “It is completely incomprehensible why this simple solution for pandemic control is no longer propagated. Especially since the filters are intended for long-term use. After all, the systems, which filter influenza viruses, spores and pollen from the air in the same way, can also prove their performance under WILD Group – Covid19 Safety through WILD Gruppe - Covid19 Sicherheit durch gefilterte Luftfiltered air during the next wave of influenza or pollen season,” says Hackl.

Now that a HEPA system has already gone into operation in the mechanical production area, WILD plans to additionally integrate HEPA filters into existing heating and cooling systems that operate according to the same principle. For example, in the assembly halls.

The modern Lotus Air filter technology was supplied by Ortner Reinraumtechnik, also based in Carinthia. “We deliberately chose an established, domestic supplier. Ortner’s experts bring 30 years of experience and know-how in the field of cleanroom technology and supported us perfectly in the implementation of this project,” emphasizes Hackl.
