Funding deal for Breath ILO

Fertility tracker Breathe ILO by startup Carbomed secures funding from investors on the Austrian television show “2 Minuten 2 Millionen”. Hans-Peter Haselsteiner, Leo Hillinger and Martin Rohla committed EUR 500,000 of capital to the company. The unique device will be manufactured by the WILD Group.

During the popular television show “2 Minuten 2 Millionen”, which aired on 5 February, a funding deal was closed for Breathe ILO, the globally unique breath analyser that determines a woman’s fertile days. WILD customer Carbomed managed to convince as many as three out of the five investors, who pledged EUR 500,000. The funders are construction tycoon Hans-Peter Haselsteiner, wine and marketing expert Leo Hillinger, and angel investor Martin Rohla. A fourth investor, Runtastic founder Florian Gwschandtner is willing to enter into further negotiations with the company. “Having managed to get three experienced investors on board in one go is a great reassurance for us. After the television show was recorded, we even doubled this sum during a round of financing with existing investors”, say managing directors Evi Jesacher and Bastian Rüther, who are delighted about the multi-million deal. The money will be invested directly into the market introduction and production of the device.

Breath ILO will be manufactured by the WILD Group in Carinthia. The systems partner was also involved in the development of the product, contributing its know-how to areas such as firmware and electronics design, and also managing the transition to serial production. “WILD is the ideal partner for us, since the company combines both the necessary development and production expertise under one roof”, explain Carbomed co-founders Dr. Horst Rüther and Prof. Ludwig Wildt, former Head of the Department of Gynecologic Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine at the Innsbruck University Clinic.
